Happy 2012 readers,
This is a new year, a new day, and hopefully a new you. We all go into every year wanting to be better than the previous year right? Well I hope that by motivation, and hopes of being a better you, that your new year resolutions are still strong and ongoing. Now for the student athlete, its not about the attention, points, or all the other things that student athletes thrive on to be successful. Have you done anything to make you proud of yourself, have you done anything that nobody needs to praise you for?, Have you had self satisfaction with who you are behind close doors with no one watching? If not, I hope that you realize that others do not matter if they aren't supporting you to do well for the right reasons.
Take this opportunity, this new year, to find yourself in the spectrum of being a student athlete that pushes him/herself for self satisfaction, for positive reinforcement, for levels of maximum potential by not submitting to peer pressure, or allowing yourself to be taken away from what really matters. Prioritizing what's important to you and your career, is a way to begin to create short term as well as long term goals for yourself, and future plans. We are all young at one point and time in our lives, but in likes of wanting a great future, we have to prepare now, don't wait til later to do better, because the same opportunity might not be available for you when you want it to be, but controlling your effort in whats important is something that you can do something about now in preparation for steps in the right direction.
